The Athletic disclosed the votes of its 15 journalists, but could have done more with that information.
A total of 110 players received votes as being among the top 75. Just 47 players were supported by all 15 voters.
The top player who was not named on all 15 ballots was George Mikan, ranked No. 35 in the tabulation. One of the voters ignored him.
Ray Allen, ranked No. 52, was the lowest ranking player to get on to all 15 ballots.
Three players made the top 75 without getting votes from more than half the voters: Jerry Lucas, #72, and Robert Parish, #74, each had support from five. Lenny Wilkins, #75, garnered votes from only three of the 15 panelists. Thot were 16 players who got support from at least four voters but did not get listed in the top 75.
Here is a list of the 35 players who did not make The Athletic’s top 75 list, despite getting a vote from at least one panelist. The list shows the number of ballots that did name each candidate, and the highest ranking he got from any of the voters. And it reflects my decision on how they should be ranked, based on the number of ballots that named them and the best ranking they gained from any voter.
